Saturday, May 18, 2024, Teatro Doglio celebrates a figure that has marked the Italian culture, costume and television: Raffaella Carrà
The show “Raffaella! Homage to Carrà” is, in fact, the story of this icon of the twentieth century costume, an extraordinary figure who managed to link the national-popular imagination to that of “feminism” and the emancipation of women. With over 60 million records sold, memorable TV shows, international tours and cult films, this unforgettable woman and artist as well as a reference point for many generations, has been an interpreter of the main evolutions of the small screen. Called “the queen of Italian television”, Carrà is not only a celebrity, but also a symbol of freedom, an icon LGBTQIA+, able to use television also as a civil tool, to denounce, to solve small and large problems of society.
The show, on tour throughout Italy, was born from a completely new project produced by the Teatro Verdi of Montecatini, directed by Gabriele Colferai and choreographed by Angelo Di Figlia. On stage a band of 5 elements will play, strictly live, the notes of his most famous and significant songs while 6 performers, through acting and singing, will outline the art, the spectacle and the character of the queen of Italian TV.
